Protection Classes
Personal Protection training is conducted by President Kurt Hebeler along with a group of talented, experienced decoys.
We are offering another personal protection class starting July 12th.
Intermediate dogs will be required to have taken a beginner class with us or prove that they’ve successfully completed a bite work course previously elsewhere. Intermediate will focus on suit work, targeting, bite building, impulse control, and different environmental factors.
Beginner dogs must demonstrate basic leash manners with a solid recall. Successful completion of prior obedience classes or training is preferred. Beginner will be a foundational introduction to personal protection bite work.
Equipment required for all levels:
-Sturdy 6’ leash (Your hands will thank you if it is leather or Biothane).
-Correction collar (slip chain or pinch).
-1.5”-2” wide flat, buckle collar (No plastic clip type collar).
-Agitation harness can be used in place of flat collar.
If you’re interested, but not sure if your dog is ready or willing, we can do an evaluation to determine if it’s right for you. Evaluation Cost: $50
Classes will be held weekly for 6 weeks averaging an hour per session.
Class sizes will be limited.
Payment in full for the 6-week course will be required at beginning of first class.
